One Thing Per Day
The biggest mistake people make with new technology is trying to learn everything at once. This plan gives you one small, practical thing to try each day. By the end of the week, you'll have real experience with AI — not just theory.
Day 1: Ask Your Voice Assistant a Question
Pick up your phone and say: "Hey Siri" (iPhone) or "Hey Google" (Android).
Then ask: "What's the weather today?"
That's it. You just used AI. The assistant understood your words, processed them, and gave you a useful answer.
Day 2: Let AI Write Something for You
Go to ChatGPT.com (free) and type: "Write a short thank-you note to my neighbor for bringing me soup."
Read what it produces. You can ask it to make changes: "Make it shorter" or "Make it more casual."
Day 3: Use Voice-to-Text
Instead of typing a text message, tap the microphone icon on your keyboard and speak your message. The AI converts your speech to text instantly.
Day 4: Ask AI to Explain Something
Go back to ChatGPT and type: "Explain Medicare Part D like I'm hearing about it for the first time."
AI is excellent at explaining complex topics in simple language. Try it with anything you're curious about.
Day 5: Set a Reminder by Voice
Say: "Hey Siri, remind me to call the dentist tomorrow at 10 AM."
You just automated a task that would normally require opening an app, finding the right screen, and typing.
Day 6: Use AI to Find a Recipe
Ask your voice assistant: "Find me a simple recipe for chicken soup."
Or ask ChatGPT: "Give me an easy chicken soup recipe with ingredients I probably already have."
Day 7: Reflect and Choose Your Next Step
Think about which day's activity was most useful to you. That's your starting point for going deeper.
